American Piñata

Covered with 2-year work permits, each representing dreams restricted by bureaucracy limits. Some protect it because they care, others hit it to avoid fears they can’t bear. Stick in hand, blind hearts chant, it’s in the court arena where enraged minds decide to harm. No compassion, full force swing—-they want to break it all and claim they have not sinned. 600 thousand lives hang from a rope, watch ambitious politicians deal another blow. Yes our parents broke the law, but we are just as American as the other kids on your block. Legal or not legal, our constant limbo. Frustration, tiredness, loss of sense—-will we ever be good enough to permanently stay on this side of the fence?!
